In Russia
Prof. Vasil Lipitsky, Dr.Sc. (b. 1947), noted Russian political expert and public figure.
He was educated at Moscow State Lomonosov University, Faculty of history. In 1974
he became a Candidate of Sciences, 1989 - Doctor of Sciences. Since 2006 - Full
Professor.
Vasil Lipitsky worked as researcher with the Moscow State Lomonosov University
and the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is the author of more than 200 books,
brochures and articles on problems of social and political relations. In his monograph
«Socialism Promised» (1999) he focused on interrelation of socialist and Christian
ideas. In 2005-2010 - Secretary of the Management Board, Executive Director of
Institute of Contemporary Development – expert center to the Government of the
Russian Federation.
Vasil Lipitsky was one of the organizers of the democratic movement in the USSR in
1989-91. He was one of the closest associates of Mikhail Gorbachev in the implementation of democratic reforms. In 1993-95 was the Member of the State Duma (Russian Parliament). In 1995-1999 was the Member of the Presidential Political Consultative Council. He held important posts in Russian Government and public organizations.
In Slovakia
In 2004, together with the famous Slovak politician Jan Čarnogursky and Alexander
Somov, prof. Vasil Lipitsky founded the Law High School of Bratislava later renamed
the Pan European University. Until 2014 he has been the Chairman of the Leading
Council of the University.
Since 2012 he is member of the steering Committee of the society “Profkreatis”, which
includes Pedagogical and Social College and primary school in Bratislava.
In 2014 Vasil Lipitsky became the citizen of the Slovak Republic.
Vasil Lipitsky - sportsman, the champion of Moscow, the participant of the
competitions of World Cup equestrian dressage. The President of the University
sports club “Pan Europa”.
